Japan’s Vodafone K.K. Offers International MMS Service with Aicent Hub
Aicent service allows subscribers to send and receive messages from any mobile device

San Jose, CA – May 5, 2005 – Aicent Inc., a leading provider of data network services and solutions for global mobile operators, today announced its selection by Vodafone K.K., a leading Japanese mobile operator, to provide Aicent MMS hub service, which enables mobile operators to efficiently exchange multimedia messages among their networks. Aicent MMS now allows more than 15 million Vodafone subscribers to exchange multimedia messages on MMS-enabled mobile phones, anytime, any place with mobile users outside Japan. Vodafone K.K. joins a growing list of Aicent’s international carrier customers offering Aicent MMS including China Mobile and more than 20 other operators world wide.

The 2005 North Asian Mobile Communications and Mobile Data report states that Japan had almost 87 million mobile subscribers by March 2005, with over 34 million subscribers signed up for 3G services. A growing number of mobile phone users world wide are sending photos, audio and video clips as the availability of handsets incorporating features such as internet access, color screens and camera increases.

Vodafone K.K. was the first Japanese mobile communications company to offer global MMS services to its subscribers.
