Aicent Completes GSMA OC SMS Hub Trials
Aicent SMS Hub Enhances Global Messaging Interconnectivity
San Jose, CA – October 25, 2006 –Aicent Inc., a leading
provider of mobile data network services and solutions for
global mobile operators, announced that it has successfully
completed testing of its SMS Hub as part of its participation
in the GSMA Open Connectivity (OC) SMS Hubbing Trials and
is now in the process of adding commercial mobile operators
to its SMS Hub.
Aicent participated with other hub providers and mobile operators in the GSMA-led worldwide SMS Hubbing Trials to establish the guidelines for message and billing transparency, interoperable fraud and spam controls, black-and-white-listing functionality, outsourcing of the connectivity and O&M functions, and end to end quality of service. Successful testing of the hub model for inter-operator SMS Hub demonstrated to operators a viable alternative to the existing connection methods, either bilateral, or 3rd party, which did not have the benefit of common industry guidelines. As part of the OC SMS hubbing project, GSMA, as supported by leading operators and hub providers, has formulated a full set of common guidelines that define hub service quality measures with Service Level Agreement (SLA) and commercial models.
The Aicent SMS Hub, which meets all GSMA OC guidelines and is available via both SS7 and IP connections, is the ideal SMS hub of choice for global operators. Aicent's industry leadership and rich operational experience in mobile data exchange services in the realms of GRX and MMS hubbing solutions and its other mobile data network services make it the clear industry leader. The Aicent SMS Hub currently hosts over 50 GSM and CDMA routes, many of which are in hard-to-reach destinations, where operators may elect 2-way SMS interworking, and the number is rapidly increasing. Aicent's SMS Hub offering features cascade billing, settlement services, web-based traffic reporting, interactive election process, and fraud & spam control. In addition, Aicent's unique Text2Image feature provides added value to handle foreign languages that cannot be displayed in a handset's native language.
Aicent invites global mobile operators to join the Aicent SMS Hub, to enjoy Aicent's world class service quality, solution flexibility, and customer support that sets Aicent apart in the industry. With Aicent SMS Hub, operators can speed their SMS inter-connections with more operators across the globe, increasing their messaging revenues more rapidly than under the existing connection methods.
